The project is focusing on the impact of volunteering, mainly in terms of personal development and learning opportunities and how this can have a positive effect on the working opportunities of young people. We would like to work at what extend volunteering contributes to the capacity building of young people, especially for youth facing unemployment issues.The project aims to develop tools to measure the impact of volunteering and to better highlight voluntary service in order to better promote it both in Europe and in Latin America. We would also like to explore through concrete cases how volunteering can contribute to improve the lives of young people, especially those facing inclusion and unemployment issues.The project will include a seminar on the impact and value of volunteering which will be held in France. It will gather program managers and experts from European and Latin American organisations. The seminar aims to work on the different perspectives in Europe and in Latin America but also to exchange about best practices on impact measuring and design tools that can be used during voluntary projects.During the second phase of the project, 21 unemployed young people will participate in pilot international workcamps in Latin America and in Europe. Pre-departure training will be organised by each organisation involved in the group sending where the tools regarding the impact measuring will be implemented. After the end of the workcamps and the return of the young people the experience will be evaluate by the sending organisation with the feedback of the hosting organisation.For the third phase of the project an evaluation meeting will gather all the partners and experts involved in the different phases, in order to assess the results of the project.During the whole duration of the project a steering team will follow the different phases of the project and ensure its cohesion. Moreover a coordinator will be in charge to gather the outcomes of each phase and contribute to the preparation of a publication presenting the tools, best practices and volunteers' stories.Pňase /Preparation and implementation of a seminar on the impact of volunteering and the creation of measuringtools.The steering group will first meet during 4 days (including arrival and departure) to prepare the seminar andset the objectives.The seminar will take place on February 2012 (6 days including arrival and'tl.eparture) in France.Pńase //From June to August 21 youngsters with unemployment issues) will participate in international workcamps in Europe and in Latin America.
