Chance for a better living in rural areas 4.
Start date: Aug 1, 2014,
End date: Jul 31, 2016
PROJECT
FINISHED
The project is a one month short-term EVS sending activity to Hungary from New-Caledonia, for 8 disadvantaged young people. This is the 4th project on this host placement involving young people from far countries, and the 2nd project between the 2 organisations. The volunteer will take part in a project where they will plan and realise a common months with the other volunteers. Important part of the project is the common living (cooking, cleaning) and also the work in a city farm together with Hungarian workers. The volunteers will also realise activities in the city of Pécs, where they will also present their culture to the locals. This is a great opportunity to them to get an inside view of Europe, since although they are part of it, they have never been there. It is also important in their professional and personal growth, since they are coming from very isolated places, and this experience opens a little bit up their mind and perspective. This is a project that has mainly educational impact on the participants themselves, but also some smaller impacts on the local community.
