The project “Caring & sharing” is a an individual EVS and involves for 12 months two volunteers, one from Armenia and one from Spain, in activities with children and teenagers in Naples, south of Italy, as Rinascita Sociale Salam House is a local organisation committed in projects for children and teenagers in the domain of social inclusion. The project addresses the theme of access for disadvantaged since the volunteers’ main roles will be to promote an exchange between their origin culture and the local one, to contribute to fight xenophobia and to support the integration of local children and the ones from immigrant families living in the local area, with a high presence of disadvantaged families), based on non-formal education activities. Furthermore, in order to contrast early school leaving and combating failure in education (a burning issue in the district), the main activities for EVS volunteer will consist in helping to organize young people free time activities and homework, if the language will not be a barrier, accompanying and assisting young people in their activities outside the organisation, organizing social and cultural activities together with the young people, cooperating together with other volunteers from our organisation and other organisations in preparing network activities in regional schools, cultural centres, youth clubs, etc. Finally, in order to promote EU Citizenship, EU awareness and Democracy, all the non-formal education activities of the volunteers with the target groups will be aimed at sharing the values of the EU and its Fundamental Rights (as stated in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU) as well as informing local people about the opportunities offered by the EU to its citizens. During the project, the volunteers will share their EVS experience by telling their little stories on a specific web platform so to describe the impact of their activities and share it with other people. The tasks assigned to each volunteer will develop his/her own creativity and entrepreneurship. Froma techinical point of view, the activities which will be organised in cooperation with local schools and the social services. Obviousely, each volunteer will have the opportunity to develop his/her own attitude through other current projects or new initiatives, participating into the drafting and planning of the activities, fostering his/her creativity and, eventually, entrepreneurship. Volunteers will be also involved in the current activities of the organisation aimed to support immigrants in setting down in our region and, at the same time, to fight against xenophobia, to inform the public about the topic and to try to increase the enhancement of the local communities in the activities against this negative appearances in our society. The project foresees one activity in two flows: one is aimed at children between 7-10 and the second is aimed at young people between 11-14. The project foresees, at the local level, the reduction of early school leaving and failure in education as well as the acess of disadvantaged young people to the same opportunities affered to the others. At the same time, locals would improve their attitude towards the European Union, its opportunities and its Fundamental Rights.
