CARE FOR WORK - Competence updating for Care Services Sector
For a long time, demands on European welfare states could be kept within manageable limits because work and family functioned as prime sources of welfare production. However, the situation has changed and care services sector is a new employment source for unemployed and workers employed in sectors affected by the financial crisis.Care for Work aimed at elaborating a Web 2.0 learning environment which was be based on Qualified Care LdV Project resulting tool with the aim of helping workers and unemployed people to adapt their competences to care services sector.Care for Work learning environment includes information and training on the techniques for caring people with acquired physical disabilities, both as text documents (handbook, information sheets, etc…) and as short training films which could be easily downloaded by the final users showing figures of care techniques and procedures. It combines e-learning and mobile learning providing a flexible training for workers of care services sector. It also allows the direct involvement of the target group that collaborates by adding any information and/or reference materials they consider interesting.Care for Work counted with the participation of 8 organisations from 5 different EU countries. All the organisations worked together for the successful development of the project and its main results.Care for Work contributed to the updating of the knowledge of the target users with regards to care assistance competences; to facilitate the labour insertion of workers and unemployed people in care sector; to promote continuous and vocational training among workers and unemployed people; to promote care assistance sector as new employment source and to contribute to answering to the demand of workers of care assistance sector.
