Capturing the moment

“Capturing the moment” was the title of the project and is also the name of the film our partner countries produced together. The premiere of the film „Capturing the moment" and the song “Every day” took place in the Alandica hall in Mariehamn (Aland islands) on the 23rd of June. The film is a documentary of the life of teenagers in Europe. It shows their life on the 4th of June, 2009, their daily routines, their families and friends, their schools and their lives. The scenes for the chorus were filmed on different days and show the beautiful landscapes in these four countries who have taken part in this project funded by European national agencies. The film was finalized by Karsten Steiner and Christian Stromberg (both Aland islands). The film music was arranged by Laurent Boer and Gérard Castex (both France). The song „Every day“ was composed by students of the four countries and arranged and conducted by Laurent Boer (France). For the premiere 76 children from the four partnercountries worked together for the decoration in the Alandica foyer: They made information boards about their countries, posters of their pictures of the three meetings before, prepared a mobile with pictures hanging from a blue metal circle with yellow stars symbolizing the European flag, painted wonderful pictures on basis of pictures and practised the song “Every day”. For the premiere there was an impressing exhibition in the foyer. After the premiere of „Every day“ with 76 children and there was the premiere of the film. Folkdances and songs could be seen and heard in the foyer afterwards.
