In order to increase readiness to combat oil pollution at shores of the Gulf of Finland there is demand for trained people, necessary equipment to deal with the matter and improvement of existing systems. Wider public awareness about the situation and dangers for Baltic Sea environment should be achieved to insure that protective measures are also more widely accepted and understood. In Estonia and Finland there are planned trainings for volunteers and employees from nature reserves to combat oil pollution and clean birds, secure necessary equipment and coordination. Finnish partner provides their assistance for trainings and relevant materials and carries out trainings for the employees of nature reserves in Finland and group leaders from Estonia.
