As most of the project activities taking place in the region of Rimavská Sobota, where a significant part of the local community in addition to the majority of the nation are also members of the Hungarian and Roma community with a lack of informations. During the project two volunteers develop and operate an existing regional news portal, which provides valuable news and information for the minorities and people in bad social condition. Volunteers also spreading the idea of voluntarism and sharing the information about EVS and Erasmus+ programme for local young people on personal meetings, round tables, and via evs.fundament.sk website. Volunteers participate in works in community garden and take role in the neigborhood beautification. The aims of the projects are to increase the quality of regional news portal and its content, to achieve more readers, to give them positive examples from the Gemer region and Europe, to spread information about Europen youth programmes and facilitate the participation of local young people, to encourage local community and volunteers by common actions like gardening and give them opportunity for cultural exchange. Volunteers have an opportunity to join our journalists on field and develop their ICT skills, writing and communication skills. The project long-term benefits can be the changed perception of foreign people in our region, the people could be well informed and get a wider (European) context of their thinking about citizenship and participation in public life. We expect that some of local young people decide to join the Erasmus+ and get valuable knowledge, skills and expertise, which can be very useful in a labour market.
