The project consists in the creation and live performance of an audiovisual interactive show (in fivedifferent cities and villages in Czech Republic) and subsequent discussion with the participants andinternational guests. The method of the project draws on informal education and education throughinteractive art. The main theme is gender delimitation, roles and equality in contemporary postmodernworld, with an emphasis on the Czech post-communist situation, and the different perception of thegiven problem in other cultures (including the approach of the EU to the gender issues). The projectwill explore the roots of Czech and European stigmata concerning gender (such as quotations of thefounders of European socio-philosophical thinking, practical examples), reflection on the historicaldevelopment and ideas regarding the gender issue as well as personal life and perception of theproblem by individual participants. It will draw on the video and audio materials which the participantsgathered when travelling in Czech and foreign lands, but also on the personal documentation of theirown family and friend circle. The project shall mirror the gender delimitations and prejudices in theCzech everyday reality while helping the youth find their own gender stand when the boundariesbetween gender roles become more and more diffused in the postmodern society. The project will berealized by 4 people (18 - 30 years old) in 15 months. The performances will take place in MaláSkála, Brno, Prague, Zlín and Jihlava. There will be a workshop for the co-producers of the projectfrom Malá Skála about the making of videos, shooting, recording and cutting in Vegas, Ableton,Protools and Final cut programs. The project will support regional production of jewellery and glassarticles and encourage young people, involved in this domain, to prosper from this knowledge indifferent way than working in a factory.
