IES Nosa Señora dos Ollos Grandes and Evangelisches Schulzentrum are two schools with extensive experience in international exchanges that they have been collaborating for four years in student exchanges as a supplementary offer for students attending German and Spanish respectively. With this project we intend to perform innovative practices in teaching languages introducing music as a subject of work, so to serve as a motivator for students and allow the integration of informal knowledge of pupils in this area. Using eTwinning platform, 16 year old German and Spanish students of the respective centers work collaboratively developing playlists modern music that students from both schools know and other characteristic in each country songs they would like their colleagues to know. Also they conducted a small survey to determine the knowledge of music, both classical and popular music, having students from each country In the third term of each course will be an exchange of short-term (8 days) of 20 students that can share music, attending concerts together and play some piece of music. This will also practice the foreign language and know the way of life and customs of their peers. With this we expect our students to improve their language skills in the foreign language, their competence in new technologies and personal autonomy. This project will help students awaken interest in the culture and lifestyles of other countries and to increase their awareness of belonging to the same reality that is the European Union. It is also expected that teachers directly involved improve their ability to methodological innovation and activity influence the dynamics of each school increasing its European dimension. This project is another step in the process of collaboration between the two schools we hope to continue and strengthen in subsequent years.
