Artixoc association gathers 15 young people from disadvantaged social context with other 31 from Poland, Germany and Italy, in a European youth exchange project using art for social change From the analysis of a topic chosen by the young, "a way to exit: Horizons towards youth empowerment" participants will live through dance and theater a creative experience that will help them build their European citizenship, improve their skills in language, learning about other cultures and empowering their artistic talent. Youth, from 15 to18 years old, will meet in Barcelona, from the 20th to the 29th August 2015, for an artistic project that will help them get new social skills, tools about managing intercultural events and getting better skills to do along in life. The whole process of preparing the exchange will focus in youth empowerment and will take youth into account as most important beneficiaries. The hosting group, with the support of the Catalan organization, will be responsible for organizing the practical, logistical and dissemination aspects of the project. These capabilities will be acquired by training and instruction from the monitors. Participants will follow methods of artistic education as a form of non-formal education: artistic and leisure processes expose stereotypes, help overcome distances and create new friendships and knowledge. The expected results are: training of youth as persons with intellectual and artistic criteria, that will be together thanks to an European project and will show what they build to the audience. The show, which will offer what young people can do when they are united by the same motivation, will take place outdoors, in two downtown areas of the city of Barcelona and is expected to be seen by about 800 people.
