Bundesgymnasium Bludenz - Professionalisierung in EU-geförderten Projekten

Based on the gained experience of participating in last year’s Erasmus+ program the “Gymnasium Bludenz” aims at increasing its competences in view of international European projects and intensifying its contacts. In order to do so, the goals set for 2015 include teacher training which concentrates on maintaining and improving language skills, acquiring innovative teaching methods and getting an increased know-how in project management in order to plan and carry out future EU-projects. The major goal of these measurements is to promote the school’s strategic development, which plays an important role in a regional context. It would also help our school to intensify its relationships with other international organisations. Furthermore, we expect to get some new input concerning historical and cultural aspects of other European countries. These insights might enable us to apply the acquired knowledge to our own classes. Moreover, the use of English as a lingua franca supports us in promoting CLIL at our school. Furthermore, attending professional training on an international level enables us to create a network of participants from different schools and countries. Claudia Zeppetzauer, Tina Breuss and Christof Thöny have been nominated to participate in the Erasmus+ program. These three teachers are supposed to actively participate in future planning processes concerning foreign language teaching and coordinating projects on an international level. This might include establishing contacts through eTwinning. Additionally, the new insights into the British and Italian culture may allow us to better understand the cultural background and its effects on society. The acquired knowledge could then be applied to our classes to increase cultural awareness among our students and it might also have a positive effect on our teaching. In the long run, we expect to broaden our professional skills and to develop and establish a school profile on an international level.
