“Build upon each other” is a long term EVS project which focuses on young people with fewer opportunities in order to give them a chance to improve their professional and personal skills while doing their EVS tasks in Olde Vechte facilities and organizations in and around Ommen. Olde Vechte functions as a coordinating organisation of this project in which the volunteers work for three days per week at a variety of partner organizations in and around Ommen. During the EVS project the volunteers will gain skills, competences and knowledge regarding current needs on the European labour market and how they can implement them in their home countries in order to create fulfilment in their life after the EVS placement. Olde Vechte applies for 10 volunteers. All of the volunteers will stay for 12 months. The placement date for these volunteers will be from 1st of September 2015 till 31st of August 2016. The volunteers are coming from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Romania, Ukraine and Turkey. The theme of the project is employability through learning by experience method. The objectives for the project are: - To get them acquainted to the Dutch culture in order to increase their cultural understanding of the European Union and create a sense of European citizenship. This will be done while working together with Dutch volunteers and with the local community of Ommen; - To provide them with activities and opportunities to develop their work style, skills, competences, communication skills, self-confidence, etc. - To challenge them to develop and follow a learning plan during their EVS. - To create learning situations in which the volunteer need to find their own creative solutions. The Foundation uses method - learning by experience. During doing different kind of activities in Olde Vechte and other organizations, volunteers can gain new skills and competences which will be applicable in their further careers. The volunteers are creators of their own schemas of activities which suit their learning goals during EVS placement. This project is aimed to young people with fewer opportunities which are facing different kind of obstacles in their daily life and who are fitting criteria of Erasmus+ programme.
