PROJECT
FINISHED
In the fall of 2013 a group of youths from Sweden traveled to Slaný in Czech Republic. The meeting between Czech and Swedish youths was very successful and by taking the experiences from this exchange a new exchange was created, this time in Katrineholm, Sweden.
The exchange are divided in two phases, the first is the impression-phase where the participants experience nature and cultural in-heritage at close hand. The second phase is the expression-phase where all the impressions are molded into creative building. All the participants experiences during the exchange will be exposed in the final public exhibition. The participants will be between 18-26 years old and they will be recruited so that the final group from each participant country to consist of 50% women and 50% men.
The aim with this exchange is to go deeper in the intercultural learning of the participants, to enable them to grow as persons through working in international teams with specific tasks. The aim is further to help them understand themselves with using storytelling and non-formal education methods in crafting as tools. We will also foster creativity and entrepreneurship of the participants by using the impression and expression-phase, where they will have the possibility to reflect and tell others what their impressions are from the exchange. We will also be focusing on how they can creatively turn these impressions into real expressions which are to be shared in a final public exhibition. Another, very important goal is to foster international cooperation of our organizations and to share experience we managed to gain during the time since the last exchange. Each participant will receive a Youthpass after the exchange to prove their development. In trying to reach for the main goal the participants will experience activities to enhance their self-knowledge, intercultural understanding and personal development as well as learning crafting in nature materials, hiking in the forest and paddling canoe.
