The project 'Building a "leaderful" European environmental youth network' aims to build a sustainable, participatory and effective youth network for young people and youth organisations across Europe working on the theme of youth for environmental and social justice. The project will provide a range of training and networking opportunities, building strong and capable leadership across the network, and delivering more effective and participatory structures and communicationacross the network. The duration of the project will be from March until December 2011. The activities will last a total of 16 days.The project consists of a sequence of activities and trainings for young people from 15 European countries, appropriate to different levels of needs and wants within the network, and providing opportunities for personal development throughout:- A Network Gathering in Germany, bringing together 20 representatives from youth organisations across Europe for 3 days of assessment, sharing and planning for the course of the project- Implementation of a Network Coordination Team of 6-8 people from across the network, who will be trained and supported to steer and develop the network over the course of the project, and communicate with and build groups regionally, meeting and working regularly as a team.- A European youth Summer Training Camp, hosted by our partner in Hungary, to bring together 45 new young people from youth organisations across Europe for 5 days of training and networking- Finally, a Campaign Strategy and Training event in Denmark will bring together 15 young people to develop an awarenss raising project for the network. They will undergo 3 days of specific training in planning strategic campaigns.The project and its activities will provide an opportunity for participants to meet and work collectively with fellow youth from across Europe, fostering the understanding that they are part of Europe, and exploring and understanding the role and potential influence that acting collectively as European youth and citizens can achieve on a European level on European issues.
