BUILD YOUR IDENTITY - CHANGE THE WORLD! The project`s main objective was to get young people at risk of social exclusion from the YUWG SCI project, in particular young people from Italy, Hungary, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Spain, to participate in an organized exchange in Catalonia. These different SCI partners selected the participants for the exchange and the coordinator of each group. For 10 days, we stayed in Vilanova del Valles where we addressed issues of gender and multiculturalism. We addressed the cultural identity and gender identity through non-formal education. The workshops' first objective was that the participants challenged their ideas about gender and culture. The second goal was that they redefined their identity and finally, that they stood for a position in different related issues. By analyzing gender and cultural issues and their effects in the coexistence, we briefly analyzed the origin of racism and fascism and widely the origin of sexism. Also, the participants imagined a better world through two specific activities. The participants were young adults with family or economic difficulties living in an environment of exclusion. The impact achieved has been their awareness on issues related to multiculturalism and gender equality. In particular, they have questioned some of their principles and developed their critical thinking. We have noticed an evolution throughout the days in relation to their personal empowerment and their comfortability to express their ideas and discover other realities. In turn, these small personal changes have encouraged them to continue working on these issues and to participate locally as they have indicated in the evaluation themselves.
