Building Your Dream is a short-term EVS project that involves two volunteers from Iceland, who will perform a short term EVS stage in the village of Nocrich, Sibiu county, Romania. There, the Nocrich Scout Centre - H.C. Habermann is running a youth centre since 2010. The project’s objectives aim to contribute to the personal development of youth aged 18-30 by involving them as volunteers in the development of non formal activities for the children and youth from the village of Nocrich, to develop the volunteers’ skills as youth workers by involving them in the activities organized at the Nocrich Scout Centre for children and youth and to work towards the development of each volunteer in order for them to acquire experience in working at the promotion volunteering among other young people.Throughout the project’s activities, the methods used in its implementation will always have at least one non-formal component, promotion of non-formal education and developing the volunteers´ competences in every step of the service being of utmost importance. The weekly schedule will include the following activities: weekly planning, , documentation and “Self directed learning”, personal project, online promotion of Nocrich Scout Centre, activities for children and young people aged 7-14, promotion of volunteering and Erasmus+, weekly evaluation, meetings with the mentor.The project aims to contribute to the personal development of the participants while involving them in the community of the village of Nocrich and the impact of the project will target as well the participants as the community and the involved organizations. The long term benefits of this project will result in a life-perspective change among the volunteers, the community and the involved organizations.
