Summary of the Project: The Project is for students studying in Department of Office Management in Resadiye Trade Vocational High School, Turhal Trade Vocational High School and Niksar Trade Vocational High School. 50 students in total and 3 companion teachers shall take place in the project. There is no handicapped and/or a person who needs special care among the participants. Our Project shall increase 50 participant students' practical capabilities in field of NEW GENERATION INFORMATION PROCESSING AUTOMATION SYSTEMS by the help of internship programs which will take 4 weeks in Portugal and, help them to gain qualified personnel identity in a field where manpower is highly demanded in our region and European Union. General Objective of the Project: To enable integrity of theory-practice, work-education in vocational education works that we maintain in office management department in our school, To set the principle that success criteria in this field should be measured in means of appropriacy with employment method and necessities of the capabilities the graduates have earned, To ground vocational education in our school on such principles as cooperation based on parties' responsibility, continual adaptation to improvements, responding to necessities of the occupation world and appropriacy to the real occupation world in education. Rationale: computers consisting of office automation, computer networks and other electronic communication devices increase the performance of management and workers, provide the time to be used efficiently and effectively, give a chance to manage and distribute the data effectively and independently from time and place. Offices have turned into units where information is processed via digital means by the help of automation concept today. In this sense, office workers are called information workers. Services of which modern offices take responsibility basically are to prepare messages including the information management needs in a structure based on automation, to provide distribution to other units which are related to the ones inside and/or outside the enterprise, to transfer messages taken similarly to relevant units after processing. Today, the importance of information workers whose duties are to produce information, benefit from the information most effectively and provide the distribution to relevant places due to the rapid development of information technologies and of office workers who are included in this category is enhanced within service economy. In this sense, office workers need to get a good vocational education in order to perform their job effectively. The aim of a good vocational education is to teach theoretical information about the profession, to show how this knowledge is put into practice in work life, to have students gain experience and to equip them with necessary skills. Specific Objective: Our school enables the students studying in office management department to gain work experience in order that they can easily find job after they graduate by teaching them NEW GENERATION INFORMATION PROCESSING AUTOMATION SYSTEMS. Rationale: Programs providing static solutions cannot meet the needs of work life which is changing day by day. New generation information processing automation systems provide its users to adapt to changing conditions of work life most rapidly. Depending on the changing demands of the sector, contemporary user does not now want to use information automation software, they want special functions to be added according to their own needs. These systems are provided to the service of nearly all institutions and office workers working in private and public sector. Above mentioned practices enable wholly automation of commercial activity management process as follows: • Sales management • Purchase management, • Stock management, • Calculating stock costs, • Barcode applications, • Money transactions management, • Calculation of taxes, • Cost planning and record, • Personnel records and payments, • Bill record and printing transactions, • Data analysis, reporting and graph applications, • Additional service opportunities. Methodology: In scope of the project, students' time shall be benefited well in order to gain the best possible outcome or efficiency, students shall be helped to acquire information about the whole business through rotation, shall take responsibility of deciding and also shall be equipped with the quality that they can get job opportunities after graduation thanks to a well-planned internship training. Expected influences of this internship program on students; are estimated to be professional knowledge and skills, positive career planning behaviours, personal and professional development, decisions about career, education, taking responsibility, recognizing yourself and self-confidence.
