The project is a group EVS which will involve hosting two German female volunteers in the Royal National Institute for the Blind in Belfast for 12 month placements. Jennifer and Marie will support the Community Development and Children and Young People's Teams, where they will work alongside staff to plan and implement activities for people with sight loss, to help reduce their social exclusion and increase their self-confidence and self-esteem. Many of the activities will be geared towards personal and skills development for the people with sight loss. The volunteers will assist in planning and implementing workshops and other activities for people with sight loss. Families, friends and carers will also be involved with some of the activities.
