The Brussels Laboratory project focuses on strategies of social inclusion and anti-discrimination. The target group are youngsters who in one way or another experience the consequences of immigration, social inclusion and discrimination. Special attention goes to young people with fewer opportunities. It is the first big collaboration between the partners, who are nevertheless familiar with each other. The partners are all organisations willing to foster their inclusion-capacities and are based in Poland, Denmark, Estonia, Italy and Belgium. They all bring one group leader and 5 participants to Belgium. The Belgian organisation will arrange the logistic side of the youth exchange. Brussels will serve as a laboratory in which the reality of social in- and exclusion is visible. The city offers an inspiring environment to threat the mentioned subjects. Moreover, some local organisations will be involved in the activities and logistics. During the youth exchange several non-formal learning methods will be applied, such as open space discussions, individual reflection, visits, interviews, etc. We aim an impact on different levels. First, the participants will have a raised awareness and changed attitudes. Second, a lot of attention goes to the dissemination because we want the participants to be able to act as 'diversity-ambassadors' in their local communities. Third, the Brussels Laboratory youth exchange should help the partner organisations in developping skills to reach minority groups that they currently don't reach or only to a limited extend, e.g. ethnical minorities and refugees. A short documentary of the training, a presentation of experiences and ideas to a local organization and an article in local press will help to talk about the project in the different countries and to enlarge the impact. ...
