The Initiative Christians for Europe e.V ./ ICE conducts for 25 years political- social youth education, international youth exchanges and voluntary services, and thus combines civil engagement and intercultural learning. The "Bridges of humanity - Macedonia"offers young people to carry out a service in social and youth centers which supports and connects human rights and international bonding, the principle of volunteering, service, learning and taking over responsibility. The current project includes one participant (Johannes Madeleyn) whose period of service is 12 months in Council for Prevention of Youth Delinquency. During the stay cultural exchange, the acquisition of linguistic and social competence and mutual learning was the main focus. Another concern was the promotion of tolerance and respect towards "being different". Topics such as intercultural communication, human dignity and rights, inclusion, European Welfare and historical backgrounds for a common understanding of Europe were covered in seminars and theme evenings. Through these encounters international understanding, intercultural learning and the development of a common European sense were promoted. The volunteer´s activity consisted mainly of organising and conducting thematic and linguistic workshops, providing information and creative ideas for the PR. The Project could be carried out by the fund in the amount of 7.000 € of Youth in Action Programme.
