"Building bridges between the nations Austria and France by means of teaching sequences. A contribution to a better 'understanding' within Europe." With our project we pursue a policy of openness towards Europe, with the objective of a cooperation and amity between Austria and France. That goal can be achieved by participating in the two-week job-shadowing programme at a French partner school organizes by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education and Women in cooperation with the French Ministry of Education and CIEP (Centre international d'études pédagogiques). The profile of the candidate who has been chosen by the Austrian Ministry of Education and Women: - teacher training for secondary modern school - holding classes in French - good general language proficiency in French The participant Austrian teacher takes over the following tasks: - close collaboration with the German teachers at the partner school - conveying knowledge of the Austrian language and culture - initiation of cooperative projects and, if applicable, exchange of students In addition to an improvement in foreign language competence the participant will share his valuable experiences concerning national and local customs and culture of the French host country with all his colleagues at his own school as well as at other secondary schools.
