'Bridge of Freindship'

Venue: Istanbul, Turkey.Activity: A multilateral arts engagement exchange exploring cultural diversity and citizenship.Theme: The project will use arts engagement activities to generate community performances as the main tools for people from disadvantaged backgrounds to explore issues of cultural diversity, citizenship and active participation.Objectives: To explore and share skills through arts engagement workshops;To develop and deliver inter cultural performances delivered in community contexts; To celebrate cultural diversity through the arts; To explore the processes used to creative performance work that impacts on the participants understanding of European citizenship and human rights; To improve the skills of working collectively in inter cultural environments; To develop social, personal and group work skills; To produce a large-scale inter cultural arts event presented to up to 10,000 people; To have taken part in peer led skills sharing workshops in local community contexts;To have have developed professional competences that improved employability Duration: 8 days of programmed activity.Countries: Participants from United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Portugal, Turkey and Hungary.Participants: 60 people in total (50 young people and 10 group leaders)The implemented activities and the methods applied: The project will host a number of arts workshops delivered by youth arts leaders and the project participants; peer led skills sharing sessions and a wide range of informal learning activities. Through the arts engagement activities within the wider community, new collaborative performance work will be created and celebrated at a large-scale outdoor community event. Our activities will also include a social cultural programme, evaluations and digital documentation. The methods applied will be workshops, discussions, performances, coaching, evaluations, visits and trainings.
