The International youth exchange project “Breaking the Borders” will give an opportunity for the youth of Lithuania and the partner countries not only to discuss about the often surfacing problem of the European migrant crisis but also to create an action plan depending on which every participant will have an idea on how to take action on improving the situation of the refugees living in their home country.The goal of the project - to develop tolerance for the refugees by introducing the youth to their culture and the current situation of the refugees in other countries.Goals of the project:- To develop the tolerance for the refugees in turn reducing the islamofobia.- To develop critical thinking for evaluating the information given by the mainstream media.- To give the youth an opportunity to learn a variety of skills which would help to make it easier for the refugees to be integrated into the community and the social life of the country.- To encourage the communication of the different cultures, collaboration and tolerance for one another.The project will have 21 young participants aged from 17 to 26 coming from Greece, Lithuania, Italy and Spain who actually care about this topic and also want to learn new skills and competences. The project will also include people with lesser opportunities. For ten days they will have a chance to work and experience different situations using the principles of informal learning methods such as: simulations, working in a team, reflections, experiencing learning in nature, discussions etc. The project will take place in Lithuania, Daugirdiškės village. Every participant will get a “Youthpass” certificate confirming their participation in which they will get a chance to evaluate personal learning’s.
