The IES Suárez de Figueroa is a teaching school which is located in the south of the province of Badajoz. Vocational , secondary and Bachillerato studies are taught in this school.
In the year 2012 we started to participate in the exchange of vocational studies through Leonardo da Vinci programme.
Since the beginning the objectives we have tried to target with our project have been the following:
To widen the professional scope of our students.
To allow our students to keep in touch with new cultures and to develop by themselves an European personality.
To improve the linguistic competences thanks to their own personal experiences.
To Know the real situations related to team work and the different institutions connected to our professional areas of the neighbour country
In our project “ Removing Frontiers II” we can point out two exchanges to the city of Lisbon. The first one took place in the academic year 2015 when four students from the 2nd course of Service to People with Dependent Needs. These female students were 17 to 23 years old.
In the second exchange which has taken place along the present academic year 2015-16 , there have been two students ( 20-21 years) from the Microcomputing and Nets studies.
The undertaken activities have been mainly focused on the work knowledge of an European country in order to improve their possibilities when looking for jobs at the same time than learning a foreing language and a different sociocultural reality.
Therefore, our students have achieved a widen knowledge of their work surroundings for their future job and furthermore tey have acquired communicative and sociocultural competences that will let them improve their vocational and personal skills for meeting the needs of a job in the real professional market.
