Created road (CBC HU-SK-UK) between Streda nad Bodrogom and Karos is very famous among citizens of surrounding villages. They are traveling to work, schools, after business activities, shopping and relaxing every day. But created road bring some problems in both side of border. The created new road caused the traffic growth which has negative impact on the access roads. These access roads are very old and wasn´t built for such high traffic. Result of this high traffic is the almost totally damaged access roads. Second problem is the traffic accidents on the road junction in Streda nad Bodrogom. Increased traffic caused the increased accidents. The main purpose of this project is the solving of this inconvenient situation by reconstruction and widening of the access roads and modification of the road junction to roundabout traffic. Achievements: With the financial support of the cross border cooperation programme altogether 4.3 km of roads between Streda nad Bodrogom in Slovakia and Karos in Hungary has been reconstructed. In order to increase road safety when crossing the border, a dangerous Y junction in Streda nad Bodrogom has been reconstructed into a roundabout intersection and the surrounding public areas with 41 parking places, 1 bus stop and paths have been constructed.
