This project, including an EVS volunteer, Cristian from Canarias Islands, proposes several missions linked to the activities of the social and medico-social cooperation groupment of ARPEJE and, more precisely, the activities linked to the shipyard of APPRES, located in the Bassin à Flot district, on the northern side of Bordeaux.
During this project, the volunteer will participate every monday morning to the weekly meetings with the employee team in order to prepare the activities of the week and the rest of the morning he will support the ergotherapeutics and in the afternoon will work on the adaptation of a sail boat to handicapped people. From tuesday to thursday, he will host some youngsters and work with them on the renovation of ships, the interior design etc. Depending of his profile and motivation, he'll support the team in the socio pedagoic following of the yougsters. Friday, he'll cook with the youngsters.
The volunteer will be in contact daily not just with the team of workers, but also with the youngsters and adults coming from ARPEJE, with some ergotherapeutics and some interns of the professional training. Eventualy, the volunteer will meet some students and will work in partnership with some local associations. He'll move in a rich and mixed social and cultural environment.
During the project, the volunteers will also have the opportunity to participate to some activities organized by CONCORDIA, like the international workcamps, the fair trade shop or the project Tools for Life. Furthermore, every summer we organize an international workcamp in partnership with ARPEJE. This action allows the local population to discover new european projects and to boost the local dynamic. In this idea, the ARPEJE is really motivated for hosting a volunteer for the year 2015-2016.
The sending organization for this project is the association ASOCIACON MOJO DE CAÑA , located in the Canary Islands in Spain.
