The youth exchange "BITI mlad / BEING Young" organised in Ljubljana will host youngsters from Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia who belong to different cultural, ethnic and social backgrounds as well as practice different religions.
The project will focus on topics to which all the participants can relate to and which are common to the youth across the Europe: socio-economical challanges, the necessity of empowerment of youth, all through the use of different forms of contemporary art and media.
• In the heart of the project lies the non-formal education which will be conducted through practical workshops which will be oriented to final production. The basis of the project is non-formal education and gaining knowledge through practically oriented workshops. Through the variety of activities mostly uneployed participants will gain important knowledge, skills and competences which will promote their active citizenship on a local level as well as help them include in the social and economic spheres of the society.
• Prior to the exchange, the partner organizations are invited to make a short documentary video, theater play or any kind of music production addressing their view on the issues, problems and possible solutions. Such research will continue during the exchange in form of music, dance, theatre, street art and video workshops as well as through the discussions and socializing
• Special attention will be given to the tools for evaluation and tracking of new skills and knowledge. A special group will be formed within the project to execute a workshop on this subject and will be assingned with a task of conducting a day-by-day reflections of participants and evaluation of the project.
• Before the end of the project a public discussion will be held in order to reflect upon all the ideas, views and findings. These important findings will be published in a special publication that will also be published on the Internet and therefore accessible to all who find the matter relevant and interesting.
