In order that our country can become also producer not only consumer in the area of mobile applications expected to bring 70 billion dollars in 2017, the youngsters must earn qualifications in the area and convert the qualifications to competence. Mobile applications are created through the software functioning on mobile operating systems Apple IOS, Google Android, Blackberry OS, Windows and Symbian. The topic of mobile operating systems has a limited place in the MEGEP (Project for Strengthening Vocational Education and Training System) curriculum for Information Technologies. Although our vocational training students in the area have the basic knowledge and skills in computer software, they have quite limited proficiency in mobile operating systems and designing on these operating systems. Therefore, they cannot benefit from the current opportunities which exist in our country and the world and will increase each passing day. We have built partnerships with the schools of Szent György Média és Informatikai Szakközépiskola (Hungary) and ITNT Multimedia & Marketing GmbH (Germany) in order that our IT students can acquire knowledge, skill and experience in mobile operating systems and designing mobile applications on these operating systems.The target group of our project is the students in grades 11 and 12 who have the basic vocational knowledge and skills in the area of Information Technologies. Our project aiming to enable the participant students to learn mobile operating systems and develop mobile applications on these operating systems includes preparatory trainings in the country and practical training facilities abroad. We will create a project management team consisting of 6 people to facilitate the project management, to conduct the training and activities planned, to provide guidance for the participants and to carry out the works and operations related to the project. A commission will be created to manage the participant identification process based on specified criteria. After the participant identification, we will organize vocational, cultural, foreign language, orientation and occupational safety trainings in order to prepare the participants for the placement abroad.IOS and Android operating systems constitute %94 of mobile applications approximately. In this regard, training content of our project has been prepared intending for IOS and Android operating systems. Duration of training abroad has been decided to be 3 weeks considering existing vocational knowledge and needs in mobile applications on design of the participants, professional qualifications required by the sector and opinions of the hosting partners. Mobility teams will be composed of 6 students to increase effectiveness of the practical training facilities abroad. An accompanying teacher will be assigned for each student group to provide support services and follow the students' improvement.We will prepare improvement tables and surveys on the purpose of that the accompanying teachers can follow the participant students' professional and personal improvement. Thanks to the practical training facilities within the hosting partners, our 36 students will;• learn IOS and Android operating systems• acquire the needed knowledge, skills and experience to design applications on IOS and Android operating systems• learn features and capacities of mobile devices• be acquainted with successful and innovative approaches to design of mobile applications• develop their skills for information technologiesRight along with the professional knowledge, skills and experiences listed above, our project will enable our participants;• to improve foreign language skills though dialogues they will establish• to make new friends• to recognize different cultures by promoting our cultural characteristics• to renew their vision in the light of life-long learning approach• to increase their motivation by paying more attention to educationOur participants, who have strengthened their personal development by acquiring vocational knowledge, skills and experience in development of mobile applications, will facilitate their employability with the certificates testifying their qualifications acquired. The participant students will share their acquisitions with their school friends and affect them in a positive way. By this means, the project will have a positive impact on all students; the rate of absenteeism and school dropout within our school will decrease.Our project will also make contribution to receiving the recompense of investments within Fatih Project (Smart Class project), meeting the need of the mobile application sector for qualified personnel and the vision of our country to be information society by 2023.
