Big Questions of Life 2
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

After the success we had with Big Questions of Life! 1st edition, we want to continue this program running a 2nd edition. The aim is to disseminate the positive results to a new group of participants, using the ideas and input we received from the participants and participating organisations in the first edition of Big Questions! How can young people survive the daily jungle of opportunities, challenges and choices they have to make? On top of that they have parents, family and friends that have expectations. And let’s not forget about “society” that seems to change faster than light. At the same time young people have their own ideas of who they are, what their talents are and which dreams they want to realize.B¿g Quest¿ons of L¿fe challenges young people from 4 different countries to discuss the big questions of life. We do this based on these 4 pillars:● Decision making: how do you deal with choice and how do you experience freedom of choice?● Direction: how can you make major life decisions based on what you find inspiring, purposeful & fulfilling?● Courage: how do you pursue those causes important for you despite your fears?● Connection; what is the impact of your choices on others & what is your role? ParticipantsThis 2nd edition of Big Questions! foresees a larger number of participants involved, since we will be working with two different groups. The first group (we refer to this as Group 1) are youngsters that come from socially and economically in disadvantaged situations. Young people that are already labelled by society and set back. Group two exist of participants who might have a less challenging situation or are considered to have more opportunities (we will refer to this group as Group 2). With Big Questions we want to empower these youngsters and increase their self-esteem so that they dare to take a stance to pursue those things important to them in life. We would also like to see how these groups differ in their experience and their dissemination results. We choose to establish inclusive groups in which young people can support each other with their own specific talents, knowledge and experiences: 1) 24 Young people aged 18+ will take part in the youth exchange for Group 1 and have the possibility to also attend the training course for peer educators.2) 28 Young people aged 18+ will take part in the youth exchange for Group 2 and have the possibility to also attend the training course for peer educators.3) 13 representatives of the partner organisations (group leaders and management staff) attend the PBA4) 9 Groupleaders coaching Group 1 during their Youth Exchange5) 4 Groupleaders coaching Group 2 during their Youth Exchange Partner organisationsFor Big Questions 2nd we decided to work with three of the same partners with whom we had success in the first edition; from Lithuania and Italy.
