Big Bang - an Adventurous Music Project for Children
Start date: Oct 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

A group of 8 leading organisations focused on stimulating and improving the production and presentation of non-commercial music for children in Europe unite under the title BIG BANG - Adventurous Music Project for Children. Their goal in joining forces and expertise is to make the rich and varied musical life of Europe more accessible to children via collaboration in 4 projects:1. The BIG BANG - music festival for children is a European music festival for children that combines the expertise and artistic input of the partner countries. 27 festivals in 9 cities stimulate artistic cross-fertilisation within Europe. The festival combines local projects and productions from partner countries.2. BIG BANG co-productions - 2 strategies:- Nomad: a group of children from a host country and a ‘Nomad’ musician from another EU country create a project that will be presented locally at the festival. - With an average of 3 productions/year, the project brings artists from various countries together for collaboration in a multimedia concert. 3. BIG BANG Seminars focus on increasing the quality of music projects for and with children in the EU and are open to all interested parties. 4. BIG BANG – Network: a small but intensive platform where the partners exchange know-how and information on producing and programming music projects for children, organising the mobility of artists and distributing projects, and pursuing long-term agreements and results. By engaging a 9th partner, the recording studio MotorMusic, the project aims to share ideas and projects with a large audience by recording the productions and preparing them for broadcasting and CD/DVD distribution. The partners are: Centro cultural de Bélem (Lisbon, PT), Onassis Cultural Center (Athens, GR), Konserthus (Stavanger, NO), Bozar (Brussels, BE), Fondación Alcala Innova (Seville, ES), KinderKinder (Hamburg, DE), Opéra de Lille (Lille, FR) and Zonzo Compagnie (Antwerp, BE).
