East and West European libraries branch out : With the expansion of the EU in 2004, there has been an increased demand to open up knowledge networks between public libraries in both East and West Europe. This project has made comparisons between the different types of library organisational models applied in various parts of the EU. The results have been used to effectvely train librarians in becoming adult education facilitators and to create a more integrated adult education system for public and librarians alike. This project started in 2003 and lasted 24 months.
