The project aim is to improve the cross-border medical system by supporting the emergence of a portfolio of joint medical services through targeted investments in medical infrastructure and equipment. The objectives of the proposal are to purchase new equipment for the operating theatres of the Oradea county hospital and the neurosurgery department of the University of Debrecen. The operating theatres of the Oradea county hospital is planned to be renovated. The direct beneficiaries consist of the population with need of surgical interventions in the fields of-emergencies, plastic and reconstructive, neurosurgery and ophthalmology, general surgery, orthopaedics, ORL, gastroenterology; the staff from Oradea Clinic County Hospital and from the Medical and Health Science Centre, surgery sections (an estimate of 40 medical staff members); the citizens from Bihor-Hajdú-Bihar Euro region (388.841 total potential beneficiaries / 50.000 estimated surgical interventions per year / 25.000 in Oradea and 25.000 in Debrecen) that will improve their access to the health care services and also lower the risks The indirect beneficiaries are represented by all the inhabitants of the area, the labour force market and the economic, social and domestic sectors (1.150.000 persons) as well the National Health Insurance Fund. Expected Results: Among project results are the following: 1.173,94 square meters built / reconstructed buildings; 1 joint strategy/protocol developed; 6 awareness raising events; 1.150.000 people served by the joint infrastructure.
