The aim of the project ‘Without Barriers – European professional practice for the deaf students as a school of life and job quality, which meets the European School Development Programme, was to improve key skills and competences that are essential in the European labor market. It also allowed to break the barriers that are connected with disabilities of our students. In order to fulfill the project objectives, we respected the improvement of vocational education as well as the quality of our school‘s policy. Our students, gaining vocational and linguistic competences confirmed by the certificate, had an opportunity of sharing acquired knowledge and experience both in local area and nationwide. The project was aimed at the students of the second and third year of the Technical High School No 9 in Kielce, who study at Special Institution for the Deaf and People with Hearing Disorders. Vitalis Gmbh in Schkeuditz near Leipsig, Germany was a partner in this project. The company had had over 17 years of experience in the field of vocational training and implementation of mobility projects. Its operation had found favour with the European Commission in the category Best Apprenticeship. Ten our students together with two teachers has gone for a placement to Germany from the 1st Nov. 2015 to the 28th Nov. 2015. Whilst the process of recruitment we had respected the principle of equal treatment of both sexes and opportunities. Before the training trip our students had received logistic and organizational support and they had been prepared in the cultural, linguistic and pedagogical fields. They have been trained in German factories for four weeks. These apprenticeships has been coherent with our school’s policy and curriculum. The programme of the placement has been compatible with the needs of both Polish and German employers and worked out with a Partner. Participants of the project in their spare time have become familiar with the culture, history and traditions of Germany by participating in excursions to Leipzig, Berlin and Dresden. Participation in international internship has improved participants' language competence and the development of entrepreneurial attitudes and mobile as it was noted in the participants’ reports. Implementation of the project has given a chance to increase the employment of people with disabilities at national and European labor market. Our students has received the offer of working after graduation for Vitalis company at gastronomy section. The future-graduates may use the received Europass document in search of job on the international market. Polish employers hiring our graduates will have an opportunity to count on bringing their companies to modern techniques and technology through the experience gained by our students. Obtaining the Europass - Mobility in Polish and German by the project’s participants has provided them recognition of qualifications and skills in all European Union countries and facilitate access to employers. Acquired certificate and the ECVET vocational training assessment are the additional adventages for our students. The final products of the project are: 1) the materials to disseminate the proportion of people with disabilities in the personal and professional life to disseminate new technologies in the catering industry and vocational training, 2) methodological workshops nationwide for disabled youth education centers, 3) The Europass documents and certificates.
