Better food quality- a force for build the health and social welfare (Food Quality Control)

The project focuses on food safety issues which are strongly related to the health improvement of the inhabitants of the region. Through the project activities, the cross-border cooperation on food safety matters will be developed, a network for joint actions will be established and the quality of the services provided to the businesses and consumers will be improved by both Greek and Bulgarian Agencies. Expected Results: Objectives: Increase of the cross-border cooperation in health protection issues, through food safety, between Greek and Bulgarian Food Safety Agencies with the development of a joint network, joint system for monitoring and control on food safety, improvement of the quality of the services provided to the businesses and consumers by both Greek and Bulgarian Agencies, development of a new model for cross-border cooperation between private, nongovernment and government sectors regarding the social and health welfare with focus on food safety issues. Expected outputs: Meetings, Information and Publicity outputs and activities, web site, various analyses, reports, establishment of a Nation-wide Crisis management procedure (Memorandum signed), equipment, H/W and S/W purchase, on the spot visits, seminars and trainings. Expected Results: Improved effectiveness and efficiency of the operations of both agencies; development of better conditions for the business in the framework of access to administrative services and information; development of partner relations between consumers, producers, inspection authorities and non-governmental sector. The partners and the stakeholders directed towards improved food quality will generate conditions for health and social welfare.
