Better Competencies in Medical Education

Although we are sure that we offer quality medical education in Macedonia, our students have an urgent need to enlarge their horizons in this profession by learning from more experienced partners.
16 students (accompanied by 2 teachers) are going to be trained for two weeks (mid of October) at the best Medical School in Ljubljana/and their partner University Medical Center, which are the leading institutions for medical education in Slovenia. A
The main objectives of our project is:
- to gain more knowledge and skills in the profession Nurse but also to strengthen the positive attitudes and working habits of the students (new competencies especially in medical care in Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaringology and Neurology)
- to acquire and exchange inter-cultural experiences and knowledge which the student can transfer in their domestic environment.
- to compare and improve consequently the level of education services offered in Macedonia in Slovenia
After the completion of the training, we expect to have 16 best trained pupils and also to begin one long-term and successful cooperation with the best medical school in Slovenia, which will enrich the medical education offer (also in Macedonia). From this mobility also the acc. teachers will benefit by being introduced with the mentoring program of the Slovenian school, the modern techniques of care, which we will disseminate and exploit in our school and our partner medical institutions.
Impacts (short term and long term):
- to improve the professional but also the generic competencies (as set of skills, knowledge and attitudes) of 16 students especially in the area of medical care (Ophtamology, Otorhinolaringology, Neurology)
- to enhance the mobility of the students
-To improve the quality of medical care in the Ophtamology, Otorhinolaringology, Neurology /and consequently to that, quality of life for our patients.
- To improve the image of our school. Our vision is to be the leading medical education center in the region
The mobility will take place from 6th till 17th of October 2013, (in the first week in the Medical School of Ljubljana. In addition (second week) our 16 students will have possibility to get practical training in the medical institutions from Ljubljana- University Medical Center.
