Belonger - nachhaltiger interkultureller Austausch
Start date: Feb 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The requested project is called Belonger part 3 and is the continuation of the successful eTwinning project Belonger part 1 that was brought to life in Cardiff, Wales, on 23rd March 2013. While the main topic in both previous parts was the intercultural exchange of experiences between 15-17 year-old German, English and French speaking adolescents by means of using up-to-date communicative media, foreign language role plays in short films, powerpoint presentations about the local habitat and exchange of experiences as well in Belgium as in Great Britain, the main focus of part three is on the completion of a concerted website that contains apart from current texts and videos also reports with suitable photos, forums and traditional aspects. A firm students' core of approximately 13-14 adolescents at the age of 17/18 regularly works once or twice a week after the lessons on that project. Many volunteers support it depending on time and need. They film, write texts, translate, chat on the eTwinning platform, discuss, try out local meals, take photos, document, program our own website, hold lectures about our project in our school and other institutions. All articles and films should be translated from the contributing partner schools in Belgium, France, Great Britain and Germany into their own native language which is contemporaneously taught at all participating schools. Towards the end of part two we have already started with that. A permanent updated showcase in the entrance hall of the school should regularly provide information for students, teachers, parents and visitors. Our school's home page delivers periodically the latest current reports and articles. Our aim should be to bring our website into action both at foreign language lessons and interdisciplinarily in plenty of schools, in order to bring current and traditional topics closer to adolescents by using genuine language material and the usage of new media and ICT. This can be done optionally in German, English or French. We want to encourage them to reflection as well as to act actively and to strengthen their European awareness and democracy. They should gain an increase in knowledge by getting to know new educational teaching and learning methods and because of a direct contact to foreign adolescents of the same age. But also students with learning difficulties should be motivated to learn more and directly to use foreign languages. They develop key competencies. With this project we intent to reach many students because our website is possible to be used from everywhere and at any time. It is supposed to be current, age appropriate, sophisticated and interesting.
