Be part of Future in Europe - Youth for Inclusive Participation

The FC Afro-Euro Giants chose JURE as a partner through a Youth project achieved in October 2013 in Helsinki between two organizations, one from Helsinki and Lisbon focused on African youth people from both cities. These members of FC Afro-Euro Giants and JURE had chance to discuss and highlight common challenges and obstacles that they organization and groups of young people faces and then they presented ideas of achieve a youth project that can improve that life quality and better integration of African youth community in Helsinki and Lisbon. This youth project involved 40 young people (20 from Finland and 20 from Portugal) and will happen in Helsinki, with non formal methodology, residential format and english as working language.
Aims:
- To create new perspectives for African youth inclusion, development and capacity building related with new economical and social challenges.
- To provide best practices achievement among African youth diaspora with few opportunities.
- To ensure African youth participation and direct involvement in their own successful integration and social-economical emancipation.
The Objectives:
- To involve the participants to achieve own actions and at same time give the same level of promotional sustainability of their action to present activities proposals for dissemination and exploitation of this project that they implemented.
- To capacity youth participants related self-integration and re-organize youth groups structures as way to give better answers to the African community on social and economical integration of young people with fewer opportunities.
- To understand the relationship between different forms and social and policies actions of integration of African community.
- To show the practical side of social integration from a social position and, on the other hand, understand the prospects of opportunities relations between Finnish and Portuguese society.
- To check which social, economic trends and policy which interpret the role of African youth community integration in society: free access to the education, education as redemption, education as a re-production and education as transformation of society.
- To guarantee the coherence and cohesion of sustainable youth project among African community in disadvantage situation.
- The empower the African youth organizations synergies and renew framework for European youth organization cooperation in youth field.
Background of the group of participants:
- Youth immigrants and descendants have lack of opportunity to learning and this limits the capacity to be well included in society.
- African youth and descendants have a higher risk of being unemployed.
This Youth Exchange project will be developed in 3 steps:
- Preparation: Advance planning visit (during 1 working day in Helsinki in 21st of June 2014).
- Implementation: Youth Exchange activity/meeting (during 6 working days in Helsinki from 21st to 26th of July 2014).
- Community Feedback: Evaluation, Dissemination and exploitation of results (in around EU countries from July 2014 to February 2015).
We expect that this youth exchange project will results in:
- Better development of competences/knowledge on leadership of African youth participants.
- Improvement of skills on integration and social-economical emancipation issues.
- More capacity building on new economical and social challenges.
- Encouragement of youth for active citizenship and citizens socially aware.
- Preparation of African youth minds towards social-economical integration in their residences countries.
- Understanding of the instruments to follow up and implement the new framework of the social cohesion.
Expected impact, are to:
- Complete the qualifying route through youth in participation, youth integration and development, youth emancipation on social-economical, youth inclusion and capacity.
- Improve the preparation, reception, information and advice before, during and after the project.
- Make available more and better information and advice to the participants.
- Disseminate within the group of participants and partners more news about complementary youth capacities, where necessary.
In a long term perspective, the plan to achieve a multiplier effect and sustainable impact is to:
- Encourage the dissemination and impact of the young participants to diversify the nature of accredited entities: associations, local or regional development associations, associations of local authorities, social partners and public institutions.
- More involvement of youth participation for own integration and social-economical emancipation, in particular inclusion, development, capacity building on new economical and social challenges and at same time share the best practices achievement among African youth diaspora with few opportunities.
- Create a youth space between the partners in order to reduce regional imbalances and to promote equal opportunities.
