Interviews with young people and the field research shows that the young people still do not know exacly thier rights, responsibilities and also this research shows that they are stil not aware of being an active citizen. In addition to this, this researc shows that children and young people are not given different responsibilities in the classroom and at school and they are not given the right to speak about the decisions which are related with them. We know that, active citizenship is very crucial for society. In this context, Overall aim is of the project is to bring in youngsters conscious of active citizenhip by giving them active roles and responsibilities in the events. Project will be organized in Akçakoca/ Düzce. It will be youth exchange under KA1, The theme of the project is “active citizenship”.
The concrete objectives of the Project are :
1- To support the development of active citizenship's of youngsters
2- To teach to work with a participative logic
3- To increase the awareness about the different methods used to involve people in social action and active citizenship
4- To develop innovative methodologies to improve youngs' social action
5- To share good practices, methodologies, experiences, skills of active citizenship
6- To increase their level of self-esteem, assertiveness and ability to take active part in the social change;
Overall project will last 175 days in total. The activity in in Akçakoca will last 7 days.
Partner countries are from Turkey, Estonia, England, Romania, Macedonia and Hungary. There will be 6 participants and 1 group leader from each country. In total the event will host 42 participants.
Activities which will take place:
NGO fair, Cultural night, field visit, orientation activities, lecturing, discussions analyzing a sample events, presentation of best practices, evaluation activities.
Methods which will be used:
Lectures, orientation meeting, group dynamic games, ice breakers and warmers, brainstorming, group discussions, case study, fieldworks, group presentations, workshop, individual work, project development techniques (brainstorming, problem analysis techniques, W-H questions, activity and strentgh analysis).
Impact and results:
Active citizenship of youngsters will be promoted. They will learn how and why they should be active in community.
They will have awareness about following current events. This will help them to be more active in their lives. They will develop team work ability and cooperation among the organizations through Europea. Cultural awareness will increase not only at participants but also local people.
Long term benefit:
This project will contribute to create strong cooperation and communication among the partners and youngsters in all areas.
