The Youth Exchange “Be active, be a citizen!” aims at an introduction of young participants to the field of youth empowerment and inclusion. The YE aims to help youngsters to become active members of the society and improve their capacities to organise and lead actions and projects targeting their own needs and interests.“Be active, be a citizen!” will explore different possibilities of youth participation and will set a platform to learn how young people can take an active role at local and international level, in order to make their voice heard regarding youth current challenges in their countries. Different tools and approaches for active participation of young people and means of influencing and creating youth policy on local, national and international level will be core elements of the Youth Exchange. Last but not least, the Youth Exchange shall contribute to develop the capacity of civil society organisations and individuals working with and for young people to aggregate their interests and needs on social reality and political agenda.Participants will also organize a street action in Bakuriani/Borjomi, in order to understand their capacity to self-organize and perform actions by themselves, the process behind them and to have a local impact in the community.The specific target group of the project is youth volunteering or working with inclusion of marginalized groups, protection of Human Rights, volunteering policies and programmes, democracy and election observation, employability and education, etc.The project will be organized by Youth for the World in Bakuriani, Georgia, for 32 young participants and 8 group leaders from Croatia, Estonia, Italy, Wales (UK), Moldova, Armenia, Belarus and Georgia from February 25th to March 7th 2014.
