Bazaar: Learn and Exchange at the Market Place
Start date: Jan 1, 2013,

Inspired by the rich significance of the "Bazaar", the traditional Middle-East market place, as a space where not only goods but also ideas, knowledge, values and personal skills ar exchanged , this project goes deeper into the concept of "learning in everyday life" . Bazaar's target group of direct beneficiaries is constituted by hard to reach migrant adults, probably older adults, living in the rural or urban neighborhoods, whose unique active social role is inside the familiar context. In the countries involved (BG) these groups might include Roma women. The communication skills of these adult individuals are often very poor, and sometimes very difficult it is engaging them into traditional learning opportunities. Thus the project addresses the development of Linguistic Skills, Communication and Learning to Learn capabilities amongst adult immigrants potentially socially excluded, as well as triggering their motivation to learn and increasing their lingustic self-esteem, their "Securité Linguistique" . In order to reach these objectives, in 5 EU countries Bazaar develops " Learning and Exchange Activities" at the Market Place (and the shopping Centre) , trying to render the latter not merely a place where learning processes might occur while "passing by " but as a sort of interactional , exchange and learning place. The preparation of the Learning Set , raising awaresness of the shop owners and seeking occasional supporters amongst general population, is performed with acccuracy. Peer Learning is one of the methodological pillars of the project , and peer on-the-spot trainers 's competences are to be recognised. Bazaar will produce and On Line Resource Package containing a Bazaar Instruction for Use Guideline and a Bazaar's Word Books in 5 languages, learning materials and video feedbacks allowing the results to be replicated at least in the 6 countries involved in the project.
