The German-French-Algerian-Italian exchange of professionals "BASTA - Interaction, education and strengthening against violence against women aims at exchanging effective individual and collective strategies to work with young people on violence against women. This project is considered as a practical exchange for eight multiplier per country who work or want to work on the local, national or international level with young people on the topic. The participants will acquire and deepen knowledge and competences to work with youngsters on violence against women. Educational training, raising awareness and prevention with youngsters on the subject can contribute to less violence against women and allow youngsters to prevent experience of violence. Besides the training, we encourage networking of the professionals and their organisations. Thus, associations which work with young people and women meet and can develop projects together on the local and international level. In this manner, we also want to strengthen local initiatives and support participation of youngsters and the civil society against violence against women. Thanks to the results of this project, new youth exchanges on the subject gender and violence can be designed. Activities during the project include exchange about aspects and approaches on the subject violence against women and participation of youngsters, thematic guided city tours, experimentation with subject-related non formal methods and exercises, methods of empowerment, common project development and open spaces. The participants gain not only knowledge of different legal situations in the countries, governmental support and different approaches in dealing with violence, but can also discuss their effectiveness and develop new approaches together. We plan to organize four exchanges from November, 2016 to April, 2018 in each of the four countries. The partner organisations are Graine de Paix (Oran, Algeria), Noi voci Tu donne (Caserta, Italy), Parle avec elles (Toulouse, France) and bapob (Berlin, Germany).
