Bardziej nowocześni - bardziej europejscy!
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project titled "Modern school - modern Europe" is a crucial part of the development strategy of Katolickie LO (KLO: Catholic High School) for the years 2016-2018 within the European Development Plan. It is a long-term scheme which, introduced systematically until 2020, is aimed to eliminate the weakest points pinpointed by the School Internal Evaluation. Some of the most basic objectives of the school are to shape pro-European attitude, respect the cultural heritage, increase the level and quality of education and boost our teachers' self-development. KLO wishes to fulfill the needs of today's society. The implementation of the above can be shown by: the education of future Europeans, intellectuals, engineers and makers of the knowledge of tomorrow. The school has come up with a new strategic project whose European aspect as well as the dissemination of modern teaching techniques are imperative. The main aim of the project is to make KLO a school which knows how to combine tradition with modernity, knows how to make the educational processes better and knows how to guarantee high scores of the school-leaving exam (Matura exam). Apart from the increase of the school's prestige, the project aims at:1. Shaping of and promoting European values - we are all the citizens of Europe; therefore, it is important to care about the development of the intercultural dialogue. By participating in the trainings around Europe, the teachers will establish new contacts and start education-wise international co-operation. The project will contribute to the changing of the image of a teacher as European citizen. 2. Developing the teachers' professional skills - the teachers are responsible for shaping new generations of the European society. Therefore, they need to care about their own self-development. Professional development shall contribute to increasing the range of skills and shall boost inter-disciplinary aspects in terms of educational processes. The realization of this objective will be done by means of the teachers participating in European programs, according to the school's particular needs. The Europass-Mobility certificate will acknowledge theses achievements.3. Developing language and communication skills as well as technical actions carried out with European institutions and schools. It is not possible to do without technology in the digital era. Therefore, it is necessary to try to meet the needs of today's students. The ICT skills learnt will be taken advantage of for the benefit of the whole school and local community in the future. A modern school is a place where teaching is carried out in accordance with high standards and where modern teaching methods are applied. 4. Working on European projects which support pro-European education. It shall be carried out by searching potential partners and acquiring funds to carry out Erasmus+ projects which are addressed to students, as well as by organizing actions within eTwinning projects.Five different trainings will be attended by 11 teachers who are all experts in their fields, who are characterized by lots of successes in terms of teaching and upbringing, an yet who are open for modern methods of working with students, understand the need to promote pro-European values and who see the need to self-develop. The realization of the project objectives will be possible owing to the teachers participating in the following trainings:1. "A classroom with the door to the world", France2. "Leadership and in service teachers' training: an European innovative approach", Portugal3. "Creative Learning and Teaching using ICT and the cultural environment", Greece4. "Building European identity at schools", Greece 5. "Grand Tour in Europe: creativity, innovation, active citizenship and intercultural dialogue", France. The knowledge and skills acquired during the project shall contribute to the quality of teaching and should result in increasing didactic competence. Pro-European awareness and the significance of foreign languages should improve. There will also be an increase as far as making use of modern technologies, educational platforms, social media are concerned in order to self-develop, make the school better and work for the benefit of the local community. The competences acquired should facilitate the willingness to use project work with students, apply some innovative teaching methods, promote the school in the local media as a school which is European and modern, whose employees follow the most modern educational trends. At the same time, teaching syllabuses shall be improved and extended by European values and the employees' competences should increase. Moreover, some of the long-lasting results should involve the improvement of the quality of education, the improvement of school management and the improvement of external exam results (matura) as well as more willingness to work in team and a bigger interest in Erasmus+ projects.
