FINISHED
Project "Be better professionally" was carried out by Zespół Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych im. Eugeniusza Kwiatkowskiego in Wielkopolski Grodzisk at the cooperation with the hosting organisation, Spanish company EuroMind. Participants of this program were 96 pupils of the following technical professions: logistics, computer sciences, economics, advertisement, agriculture, fashion industry, cooking and catering services, construction and mechatronics. The main goal of the project was to stimulate young people's activity through the use of a foreign language, as an intercultural tool of mobility on the labour market. This purpose was accomplished by means of smaller targets: gaining additional language skills in classes preparing for participation in the work practice (English), learning a new language in a course being held during the trip (Spanish), gaining practical knowledge from the scope of the program of practice appropriate for each profession, gaining professional experience and raising qualifications, what was confirmed with appropriate documents (e.g. Europass), personality development, enabled by opening to other people and needs to exist without family, self-reliance and increased self-esteem thanks to the possibility of being involved in an international projects. Before the trip all students participated in the organizational meeting and classes to prepare themselves mentally and to practice functional English. All participants spent 3 weeks in Spain, during which time they went through their traineeship, engaged in a Spanish course, cultural classes and a day-trip to Malaga. 64 participants took part in work practice in Spanish workplaces and 32 were placed in training institutions. Results of the project include successful execution of foreign traineeships and professional experience for students, conducting linguistic classes in English and Spanish thanks to which students improved their language skills, implementation of cultural aspects of the program, allowing our students to learn about Spanish culture and tradition. The project's impact can be seen amongst our students, but it also affected school community and the local environment. Thanks to popularizing results of the project it is also possible to notice the indirect influence among persons from outside the target group, such as people participating in school parties, Open Days, during which handouts about the project are being used for promotion.
