Back to the streets 2
Start date: Oct 1, 2016,
End date: Dec 31, 2017
PROJECT
FINISHED
EVS project Back to the Streets 2 is formed as a continuation of this year’s EVS and last year’s project Revive parks (youth exchange), which demonstrated the clear lack of landscaped public spaces and events in these public areas. Within the project also a survey was made, which is the starting point for the preparation of project activities. So, in Črnomelj, we will host three young volunteers with fewer opportunities from Portugal, Greece and Poland.Volunteers will organize various sports, cultural and social events in open public areas in Bela Krajina. They will also participate in the operation of our social enterprise, where they will help in development of creative content and get to know all work processes in the functioning of the hostel, which is expected to increase their employment opportunities at the end of the project. Youth center BIT is sharing a building of a former boarding school with the special needs primary school, where volunteers will also carry out workshops. In this project, a special attention will be given to workshops on human rights, because young people, especially in understanding of the current migrant crisis, demonstrate the lack of awareness of the importance of human rights in our everyday lives. Within the project, different working methods will be used, however, we will encourage volunteers’ self-initiative and creativity the most. With this project we want to increase the number of events in our organization and strengthen the openness in our center. The project is aimed to raise awareness about the personal career planning and to increase awareness of the development of competencies in order to facilitate employability after completion of the project. We hope that volunteers will also get a special feeling and awareness about the social inclusion of people at the margins of society.
