BABE - Telebank and Teleworking

Teleworking for the Banking Sector : Information and communications technology has the potential to revolutionise working lives. The use of computers, modems and fax machines makes it possible for the employee to work from home rather than travel to the office every day. The banking sector is one area in which these evolving working patterns are likely to be widely adopted, but new working patterns require specialised staff training and a revised understanding of the balance between the workplace and home. This project offers training modules for individual staff likely to be affected but also for all the groups – managers, trade union representatives, training staff – who need to understand the new pressures and constraints that will arise from such fundamental change. This project started in 2000 and lasted 24 months.
