Search for European Projects

Az idegennyelv-tanítás interkulturális aspektusai
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Project background: Regional labour markets transforming into a European one has changed the requirements a school has to meet. Our secondary school has to prepare students to become a European employee and this is the field we would like to improve. To reach this, we have to enhance the intercultural and project management skills of our staff. These competences span over various subjects and therefore are an important part of a school open to Europe. These skills can be improved at international and intercultural trainings and job shadowing in foreign schools. It is essential that our staff members will meet teachers from other countries, which means that their intercultural learning will take place not only during training sessions but in free time spent together. At the same time collegues will have an opportunity to create interpersonal relations and find possible project partners for the future. These personal meetings will give us a chance to organise student exchange progammes and eTwinning or other connections. Aims of project: Improvement of intercultural and project management skills of staff. Number of participants: 3 foreign language teachers (1 German and 2 English teachers) who are ready to take part in teacher training abroad, have excellent language skills and are determined to represent the European idea in front of their students and collegues. They are devoted to integrating European values in their syllaby and teaching. Process of execution: Participating in international and intercultural teacher training programmes and job shadowing. Realization: The skills developed in training will enable us to realise intercultural competence through teaching, and the teachers' project management skills will empower us to join other EU projects. Anticipated results, short and long term effects: Teachers' experiences will have a motivating effect on intercultural learning and cooperation. Our work at school, especially in the fields of foreign languages and social studies can be more effective with the help of European projects. The experience of the training programmes conveyed to staff by the participants will motivate them in organising and realising other EU projects, and the project used as a method is an effective way to develop students' intercultural, language and social skills. Thus they will be more prepared to cope with the challenges of a European and international labour market.
