Çorum is an important city with its historical tourism, especially Bogazköy , Hattusa , Alacahöyük and Ortaköy – Sapinova counties. They were all capital city and neigbours of Hittites Civilisation. Their history is based on theHittites and stil there are archaeological excavations. Summer Highlands like Bayat , Kargi , Iskilip and Incesu Kanyonu are also another touristical landscapes in Çorum.
Archaeological excavations in Çorum since 1834 have given clues about the life and culture of civilisations who have lived in Anatolia. Especially the Hittites. And these studies helped Çorum to be known beter by European countries.The excavations lasting nearly a century in and around Çorum attracted the attention of many aboriginal and foreigner investigators .because of this many new archaeological excavation sites are recovered by them. Because of the tourism potential of the area soon in the future , its being thought to be opened to touristic visits to the request.The oeuvre of Hittites archaelogical excavations are exhibited in the museum of Çorum is also an important place for the visitors. The museum is a new designed antique building with its worthy collected works which is being visited by aboriginal and foreigner visitors.
Many international Hittitology seminars and congress have been held since 1990 in Çorum.
Also many different other seminars and congresses are held in Çorum which is about 250 km away from the Capitalcity of Türkiye .These kind of activities also bring in mobility and tourism activities.Because of this mobility new five star hotels are opened.
German archaelogists are responsible for the excavations in Çorum. So Hattusa is an important archaelogical centre for the Germans. Many researchers and tourists visit Çorum every year .According to input data in 2012 year, nearly 150.000 tourists have seen Çorum.
The Bogazköy sphinx which is brought from the Germany Pergamon museum is visited by nearly 6000 people up to now..Hattusa ruins were visited about 33.000 people , Alacahöyük museum and ruins were visited by 3000 people and Çorum museum was visited by 2000 people.
We as Tourism and Hotel Management Vocational High School have an hotel which consists of 30 different types roomswith 70 beds capacity.Our graduated students and trainee students work and serve in our hotel. Our graduated students also work in city hotels and restaurants.And our visitors in the hotel are generally German tourists.
Our students need tolearn European Culture and practical education about the Cuisine , and accomodation services in Europe. They need to learn and speakforeign languages with the native speakers especially related with their tourism sector.
They need to visit and gain new knowledges about different countries and cultures.
Our Project has been planned for the 24 students who are in Food and Beverage and Accomodation and Transport Classes.15 of these students will have education in Germany and the other 15 will have in Italy.
The duration of the Project is planned to be 4 weeks , starting from 4- 30 May.
