The HLW Horn – Higher Commercial College for occupations in service industries - Vocational School for Commercial Jobs – trains its students in the fields of kitchen and service among other subjects. At the end of the fourth year there is the so-called pre-exam in kitchen and service which is a prerequisite to be admitted to graduate at the end of the fifth year. Therefore the students have to do their compulsory 12-week internship between the third and the fourth year in order to consolidate and extend their competence in this field. As part of the internship abroad the students should gain intercultural experience in other countries and get to know international businesses. The interns are expected to complete a training programme of 8 hours daily in various business domains such as kitchen, service, reception, storey or management. Furthermore, they are supposed to gain profound insight into the companies as well as consolidate and extend their competence and skill in these domains. Moreover, it is one of the school’s main concerns to promote sustainable cooperation between educational institutions and enterprises in economy, tourism and the food service industry at international level. After the end of theire third year, this summer, 7 students of the HLW Horn are going to take their 12-week internship in kitchen and service abroad. The following partner companies are going to be part of the project:A) lead partner: HLW Horn (PIC 949167408) B) partner companies:HILTON COBHAM, Seven Hills Rd, Cobham, Surrey KT11 1 EW (3 students)Strandhotel Juist (1 student)
