Atmospheric pollution and global warming: Think globally, act locally.
ACTORSStudents from ITIS Leonardo da Vinci Carpi, (Italy), Skarnes Videregående Skole, Skarnes (Norway) and Tyne Metropolitan College, North Tyneside (UK), all aged 17-19, will collaborate in exploring aspects of atmospheric pollution and global warming.OBJECTIVESStudents will be encouraged to:-develop a common awareness of belonging to a European culture by fostering a climate of international discourse and tolerance. -develop their awareness as to the impact on the environment of human activities in general, and their own activities in particular.-develop transferable skills, including enhanced language, mathematical and ICT skills along with interpersonal skills and self-confidence.APPROACHThe approach taken will be highly interactive. Students will work in groups, they will be exposed to experts from associated areas. Through theoretical and practical activities students will question their own views and the views of others on the causes, impacts and possible mitigating factors affecting global warming and atmospheric pollution. ACTIVITIESActivities will include lectures, guest speakers conferences, schools-based and international workshops, realization of products and field trips, international communication via Moodle Platform.RESULTS-Setting up of a common website-Publication of articles on a common website-Realization and sharing of multicultural elearning packages-International photographic contest.DURATIONTwo years
