The Asturias-Portugal 2014-16 project will develop VET students mobilities from the Carmen y Severo Ochoa VET School, located in Luarca(Asturias). These mobilities will take place in Portugal and will last for 30 days in which the students will keep on with their practical education in portuguese companies. In addition, a VET staff mobility will be developed, like a job shadowing, in a italian High School for 5 days. The students context is rural with strong resistance against geographic mobilities and they also present important foreign languages education needs. Moreover, the local labour market is very depressed. The basic project targets are students learning improvements, students employability improvements, students foreign languages improvements and also to give them the chance to discover another countries and cultures, meanwhile they increase their personal autonomy. Talking about VET staff mobilities, the specific targets are teachers foreign languages skills development, different methodologies and educational systems knowledge and to let them establish contacts for further students mobilities. There will be 10 participants in the students mobilities, distributed along 2 years. First year, 3 electrician students and 2 car mechanic students would participate, repeating the same amount for the second year. Furthermore, we would like our teachers to increase their methodological competencies. In the long term, we would like this project to let our VET School an european opening, positive actitudes to other countries and geographical, professional and innovative mobilities.
